Reviews

What students say

A selection of reviews from former students.

“Tim was my first Dutch teacher and I think it was the best thing that could happen to me and my classmates. The classes with Tim are very dynamic and you never get tired of learning. He has always cared for us to understand everything. I am very grateful to have had him as a teacher. Highly recommended!”

“Tim is my husband's and my teacher for Dutch. We didn't know anything before we started and in a short while we became better and better. Tim is highly professional, patient and nice. I passed the inburgering first time, all thanks to Tim. Highly recommended!”

Dankzij Tim is mijn Nederlands vooruit gegaan. Ik spreek nu met meer zelfvertrouwen. Ik raad hem aan.”

Did you know …

Soelaas

Meaning

‘Relief, support, help.’ Often in the phrase soelaas bieden, meaning ‘to offer relief / to help’.

Origin

Borrowed in the 13th century as solas/solaas from the Old French solas/solaz ‘joy, comfort’. That in turn comes from the Latin solacium ‘comfort, solace’. Through the same root it reached English as solace.

In practice

“A good lesson offers soelaas against the frustration of a new language.”
